KEITH'S CORNER

We are in full helping mode!

Posted

During the month of July, Helping Makes U Happy is in full helping mode!

Not only are we packing and delivering food to the families referred to us, but we are also putting together “Comfort Cases” for children struggling with bullying issues, homelessness, domestic disturbances, etc.

Keith (pictured) is preparing the items that go into making a comfort case.  We provide them to children in elementary and high school grades, and when necessary, to their parent(s) as well.

In an average season, we usually put together a couple hundred of these cases.  If anyone is interested in donating items or new backpacks for this project, please call or text Cassy at 631-848-9008.

If you’d like to volunteer to assemble, which will most likely happen in mid-July, email us at helpingmakesuhappy@gmail.com.

We will also be looking for volunteers who would like to tie-dye some sweatshirts for HMUH, as our supply is running low.

If any students are looking for a head start on their community service hours, this is a fun and easy way to get them. We provide the shirts and the tie-dye.

On July 14, we will be supporting a fundraiser at Sunsets at Senix for Mikki Chiorando (stepdaughter of Lou Bengel), a local young lady who is battling breast cancer.

The event runs from 12 to 3 p.m. that day; tickets are $30 per person and are available at the door or in advance by texting 631-487-7608.

There will be a live band and a silent auction. Please come down and show your support!

Wishing a Happy Fourth of July to all—stay safe!
