Former NBA player Neil Anthony Edwards will be presenting his “Luxury begins with Art” show and reception at Chops Steakhouse in Patchogue Village on Monday, Aug. 26.

“I am thrilled to host an art show in Patchogue, as it presents a unique opportunity to enrich the local cultural landscape with fine art,” Edwards said. “Moreover, the area offers a diverse array of activities and experiences, making it an ideal location for this event.”

The event, from 5 to 9 p.m., will include an open bar, hors-d’oeuvres and art. Tickets are $125 cash. A portion of the art sales will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. “Mr. Edwards has put together his ‘Faded Prohibition’ series that is sure to have all of our guests filled with anticipation to get his pieces on their walls at home,” said John Paul Gunderson, general manager of Chops. “We are extremely excited here at Chops to collaborate with such a talented artist. We invite you to come down and witness truly beautiful work that you’ll have the chance to take home.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Neil Anthony Edwards is a visionary who unequivocally evokes emotion through his use of translucent color and unorthodox expressions which exudes his love for fashion, luxury and seeing his artistic imagination illuminating residential vestibules globally. Encapsulating the brand’s motto that “Luxury begins with art,” Edwards’s artwork encompasses the astral and physical dimension bridging a galactic subconscious touching on the esoteric and religious aspects of the human psyche.

Born in America to Caribbean parents, New York-based artist Edwards attended High School for Art and Design, where he studied color theory, critical thinking, and artistic techniques. As a result, he began to hone his skills and deeply explore his interest in painting for the next few years. After taking a break from painting to follow other life pursuits, Edwards attended Stony Brook University, where he would go on to be drafted and become a professional basketball player in the NBA playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. Following his career in the NBA, Edwards began traveling overseas to play international basketball in countries such as China, Lebanon, Venezuela, and Italy. While traveling abroad, Edwards absorbed influence from multicultural environments, and his passion and love for art grew that much stronger.
