This winter, Center Moriches boys varsity basketball is having a prosperous season, contending in Suffolk County League VI. Their current overall record for the 2025-26 season is 9-3 and their league record is 4-2.
The Red Devils tipped off the season in a vast conquest over the Port Jefferson Royals in a 60-32 League VI win on Monday, Dec. 8. Anthony Huff was the points leader for the Red Devils with 16, while Brandon Smith Jr., Allan Whitty, and Jordan Williams scored 11 as Williams slammed down three 3-pointers.
Timothy Jackson scored nine with a 3-pointer and two free throws. On the Dec. 18, they fell to Mount Sinai, 89-63. Then on Dec. 16, Center Moriches topped the Miller Place Panthers, 66-56. Huff summated 18 points; Williams, 17, with three triple-score baskets; Whitty 16; and Smith Jr., 11.
Smith Jr. also tabbed 10 assists in the contest. The Red Devils were victorious again when they annihilated Greenport by 32 points, 81-49. Huff scored 17 with a 3-pointer, six field goals, and two free throws.
Allan Whitty had a double-double tallying sixteen points while notching 12 rebounds with eight field goals. Williams scored 16, Smith Jr. 13 with four free throws, and Amauri Whitty notched 10 points with a 3-point basket.
Center Moriches overwhelmed Southold on Dec. 29, 80-35, then beat and Pierson on Jan. 3, 67-57. The Red Devils picked up two more wins beating Shoreham-Wading River by a sliver, 61-60, then defeated the Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms, 73-62.
They topped Babylon, 65-50, at Babylon. Center Moriches boys basketball faced Elwood-John Glenn, Mattituck, Shoreham Wading River, and Port Jefferson in late January.
The Red Devils will close out the regular season the first week of February with three more games: at Southampton on Feb. 2, hosting Babylon on Feb. 4, then at the Mattituck Tuckers on Friday, Feb. 6.
