Newspaper publisher launches new magazine

The Long Island Advance, Suffolk County News and Islip Bulletin publisher Terry Tuthill has partnered with local publisher Thomas Graf in a new endeavor called Our Island Life. Editorial coordinator Nicole Fuentes and production designer Andrew Ingenito join them to help carefully curate stories about local people and places in our beautiful communities.

“[I am] very excited to start a new project; after a few other local magazines stopped printing, we felt the area needed a high-quality publication,” said Tuthill. “It has great local feature stories that we often don’t always get to do in a newspaper setting.”

The new magazine recently launched with a Summer Issue inspired by the South Shore community. The publication will be released quarterly, with an exciting year planned as your source to all things local on the South Shore of Long Island.

Our Island Life is also looking to partner with the community. The marketing platform enables reputable businesses to grow more rapidly by getting into local, premium homes every single month with your brand and message. Partnerships include a variety of value ad opportunities that start with advertisements and extends to various editorial, PR, online, social media and networking opportunities.

“We look forward to becoming a significant resource of information, inspiration and economic growth within your community,” said co-publisher Graf.

The magazine is delivered via USPS to over 9,000 households in southern Brookhaven and Islip towns. The team plans to include Sayville and East Islip in the next issue. The publication is also bulk-dropped at high-traffic locations in Medford, East Patchogue, Patchogue, Sayville and East Islip.

“Starting something new during a pandemic has been both scary but rewarding, knowing we pulled it off,” Tuthill added. “We hope the community enjoys reading it.”
