It’s time for back to school

September is all about school supplies and comfort cases. 

After a busy summer of feeding families, Helping Makes U Happy, with the assistance of our amazing communities, has been busy putting together backpacks for students in need and “N-docket” children—those removed from home due to neglect. 

Pictured is Zach Froberg, who saved his tips from his summer job and used them to purchase school supplies for HMUH. Two years ago, Zach did a summer service project for us where he collected and donated backpacks. And two years before that, his older brother did the same thing for us. It makes us feel so good when students are inspired to help, time after time!

In a few weeks, we’ll be assembling approximately 250 “comfort cases” we give annually to CPS for the N-docket children so they have something to call their own when they relocate. We are also continuing to maintain and look for volunteers to help fill the community Blessing Box located on Railroad Avenue in Center Moriches.  At the current time, we have volunteers lined up through Sept. 7. It really is such an easy way to help your community and it makes you feel so good!
