Milagro performs at Clayton Huey

Posted

This past Saturday, the second concert in the Center Moriches Summer Concert Series took place on the front lawn of Clayton Huey Elementary School. The feature act of the concert was a small tribute band named Milagro, who was chosen to perform at Clayton Huey by Jackie Osborne, Paul Quinn, and Jimmy Osborne’s Music Store, located on the Main Street.

Milagro mainly focused on covers of songs by the band Santana, and the crowd in attendance certainly enjoyed the performance. Concert attendees could also enjoy concessions courtesy of CMPTO and Center Moriches Music Booster Club members, where all purchases would be directed to the high school symphonic band’s Music in the Parks trip to Disney in March.

The concert was sponsored by Suffolk County Legis. Jim Mazzarella and set up by members of the Center Moriches Chamber of Commerce. The treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce, Gerry Sapanaro, provided insight into how these summer concerts are successful. She explained that the concert had been held at Clayton Huey for around 25 years and that the primary motivation behind these concerts is to benefit the community, stating that these types of events help all of the things they do for seniors and kids in general, and it helps bring the community together.

Currently, two more concerts are being planned as part of the Summer Concert series: one on Aug. 12 and another on Aug. 26. Both concerts will be played live at the Clayton Huey front lawn. Readers can visit the Center Moriches Chamber of Commerce’s Instagram page for more information, which will post about any future details discussing both the Summer Concert Series and other community events in Center Moriches.
